Three years! Three years of love. Three years of trials. Three years of growth. So between it all, three years of good food!
Road Trip!
For our 3rd wedding anniversary, Christian and I took a short road trip to Cincinnati, Ohio. It’s just about 80 miles away, and it was the perfect getaway we needed that was baby free and all about us. While we were away, our baby boy spent the weekend with family.
We both enjoy finding fresh eateries when traveling and so, of course, we worked food into our itinerary. Our trip included shopping at the famous Findlay market, dining at local restaurants, cheering on the Reds, and exploring the massive Jungle Jim’s grocery store. Let’s say our hearts and stomachs were full the entire weekend!
Our Hotel Stay
The first night there we ordered room service at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati hotel. We kept it simple with burgers and fries. Can’t go wrong with that, right? The next morning Christian sweetly snuck out to pick up some Starbucks while I slept in.
I was very pleased with all of the food at our hotel. It even had excellent bar food. After spending some time at the casino that Saturday night, we enjoyed wine and a hummus platter at there.
You’re My Lobster
One restaurant we enjoyed that weekend is called Court Street Lobster. If you enjoy fresh seafood dishes, this is a spot to try out. We assumed we pay a lot since the meals are mainly lobster and seafood. However, the food was delicious and reasonably priced.
I had the lobster mac and cheese, which was rich and filling. I grinned ear to ear when the server sat my bowl down, and there was a large piece of claw meat peaking through the creamy cheese sauce. I love that they didn’t skimp on the meat! Every bite had lobster in it.
Christian enjoyed a crab roll with a small bowl of lobster bisque. He said the crab roll was spicy and delicious. I tried a little of his bisque. It too was packed with flavor. Even after a hot day at the ballpark, it was worth trying.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game
It was sweltering that day! The temps climbed to the upper 90s. However, the Reds won, so it was worth sweating through 9 innings. Fortunately, we purchased the All-You-Can-Eat tickets at the ballpark. Each ticket costs $20 and includes unlimited drinks, chips, popcorn, and up to 5 hotdogs. It sounds like much food, but we easily would have spent more money trying to refuel constantly in the heat. We didn’t end up eating all those hotdogs, but we went through lots of drinks and snacks to keep our energy up. All in all, it was a great time watching baseball and enjoying traditional ballpark eats.

Overall, it was a foodie-themed anniversary trip that we will never forget. We spent quality time reminiscing and treating ourselves to good food. I look forward to many more years of experiencing this beautiful life with Christian!
