My Dish for the Collab
My contribution is this simple, and tasty Chocolate Bark. The toppings are Snoopy-inspired (one of my fave holiday movies). Do you remember the scene where he made popcorn, toast, and jellybeans for his friends lol? Instead, I topped my bark with cranberries, popcorn, pretzels, and pepitas.
Mise En Place
- 10 oz Dark Chocolate Morsels
- 1/8 cup pepitas
- 1-2 cups freshly popped popcorn
- 1 cup mini pretzels
- 1/4 cup dried, sweetened cranberries
- Flaky Sea Salt (optional)
How to Make Chocolate Bark
- Melt chocolate in a double broiler.
- Spread all of the melted chocolate on to parchment paper-lined baking sheet until about 1/4 inch thick.
- Before the chocolate cools, top with the remaining ingredients.
- If desired, sprinkle on some flaky sea salt.
- Let rest for several hours until the chocolate hardens.
- Carefully break into pieces and serve.
Tips for making this recipe:
- After adding the toppings, lift the baking sheet less than an inch off the counter and lightly drop it back down- it’ll help the ingredients stick to the chocolate a little better as it sets.
- If you don’t have the cookware to create a double broiler, you can melt the chocolate in the microwave- but be careful not to burn the chocolate! Place the morsels in a microwave safe bowl and melt chocolate 5 seconds at a time, stirring between intervals.
All in All
All in all, I know I’m preaching to the choir when I say it STILL feels strange to be in a pandemic. However, I am very grateful for the virtual opportunities I have had to stay connected with friends and fellow creatives this year. When Caitie reached out to with the idea to collaborate, it was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits. It brought back so many good memories from my humble beginnings as a food blogger. I have come a long way and connected with some amazing individuals along the journey.
Happy Holidays everyone!!!
