Buffalo Sauce Toast with Whipped Bleu Cheese Spread

Ingredients
  

FOR THE WHIPPED BLEU CHEESE SPREAD

  • 5 oz Crumbled Bleu Cheese divided
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

FOR THE BUFFALO SAUCE TOAST

  • 4 - 6 slices Italian Bread Slices
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter melted
  • 2 Tablespoons Hot Sauce cayenne pepper based
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Honey

GARNISH

  • 1/4 cup Red Onion thinly sliced
  • Crumbled Bleu Cheese

Instructions
 

Make Whipped Bleu Cheese Spread

  • Mix the ricotta and 1/2 of your blue cheese crumbles (you’ll save the rest for garnish) for about 30 seconds in a food processor or blender. Add olive oil and salt and pepper to taste, and blend for 20-30 seconds until the spread is smooth and creamy.
  • Set whipped bleu cheese spread aside while you prepare your toast.

Make buffalo sauce and toast

  • Whisk together the melted butter, hot sauce, honey, and garlic powder in a small bowl to make a buffalo sauce.
  • Coat each piece of bread evenly with buffalo sauce.
  • Toast bread under a broiler for 1 to 2 minutes until browned. Remove and let cool slightly.

Garnish Toasts and Serve

  • Spread a generous amount of whipped bleu cheese onto each slice of toasted bread.
  • Garnish toasts with additional bleu cheese crumbles and sliced red onion, and serve.
