Cut off the top quarter of the garlic bulb to expose cloves.
Place the garlic bulb (cut side up) on a sheet of foil. Drizzle the exposed cloves with about one tablespoon of olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Fold the foil upward over the garlic bulb and seal tightly. Bake for 35-40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before using or storing.
